Box.net is way over hyped

It might be ok for casual use of cloud storage. however, their price indicates it is for business use. No, I won't recommend it for business. For business use, you need to have better client software, with FTP, folder sync and automatic backup.
Buyer beware, Box has fundamental flaws that will not be resolved until the end of 2013 at the earliest. It might be easy to use but can you afford to lose your client's data?
By the way, they do not have support available in the European time zone and do not provide live support making it virtually impossible to resolve issues as there's a whole day's worth of new issues by the time they get round to looking at yours.
I'm glad to know that the sync repair utility has resolved your issue. I absolutely understand that waiting for the initial sync after running the repair utility is not ideal or feasible once you have a large amount of syncing items.
The specific error that was listed relates to your sync database becoming malformed. This is a rare error that occurs due to the architecture of the code used in our current 3.x versions of Box Sync, not a specific workflow that you are following. Our engineers have completely restructured our upcoming 4.0 version to eliminate the occurrences of this. I apologize for the inconvenience this causes you and completely understand that running the repair utility and having to wait for the long sync is frustrating.
As mentioned, our upcoming 4.0 version, planned for release late this fall, has eliminated the occurrences of this thus far in our testing.
1. The issue can occur for any Box Sync user.
2. There was no reported data loss in the support ticket surrounding this issue. There is also no known instances of data loss due to this issue. If there was data loss, please provide us with more information so that we can investigate that properly.
[I have lost data as a result of this Box Sync bug that I have to wait 10 months to resolve.]
3. The majority of Box Sync issues, including this one, arise from the slow sync speeds and complex workflows. We realize that it's inconvenient and unrealistic to ask people to wait each time someone makes a change and not abruptly interrupt a sync process before it finishes. As a result, our upcoming 4.0 version has syncing speeds that are double what we're currently experiencing and help prevent these types of errors from happening.
4. The 4.0 beta version will be available in the middle of this year. The release version is planned for late Fall this year. Let me know if you'd like me to place you and your enterprise on the list for the beta version.

Please see below for information on the Box Sync bug that means your synchronisation could fail at any time - most of our users suffered this within the first month, so you can ignore their claim that this is a rare occurrence, it happened on both Windows and Mac PCs.
